Gateri Excellence Daycare
Providing a safe and loving educational environment for children
Background
Many of the women connected with YEGO need childcare in order to attend healing retreats, receive counselling, participate in education, find employment, or hold down a job. With the help of donations from friends in Canada, Athanasie’s dream of a daycare to help these women became a reality in January 2020 with 17 children, By March 2021, Gatesi Excellence Daycare had 76 children attending.
Benefits
At the daycare, children:
- learn counting, English and French
- sing, dance and play in inclusive groups
- are given a uniform
- receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch
- become ready for successful primary school attendance
